What is Platespin?

PlateSpin Forge (formerly PlateSpin Migrate) was a workload migration solution acquired by Micro Focus (previously by NetIQ and Novell). It's used for automated server workload migration, disaster recovery, and data center consolidation. It allows the user to move server workloads between physical, virtual, and cloud environments, minimizing downtime and risk. Though no longer actively sold, it facilitated 'cold' and 'hot' migrations, the latter involving replicating data while the source server remained running.
