What is pipefitting?

Pipefitting is the craft of installing and maintaining piping systems. These systems are used to transport fluids (liquids and gases) in a wide range of industries, including plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), manufacturing, oil and gas, and power generation. Pipefitters select, cut, thread, assemble, and install pipes made of various materials (steel, copper, plastic, etc.) using different methods (welding, soldering, threading, gluing, etc.) to ensure leak-proof and efficient fluid transport.
