What is Pick & Place?
A pick and place machine is a robotic machine which is used to accurately place surface mount devices (SMDs) onto a printed circuit board (PCB). They are essential for high-speed, high-precision assembly of electronic components in manufacturing. The machines use a vacuum or other gripping mechanism to pick up components from feeders (tapes, trays, etc.) and then precisely position and place them onto the PCB at designated locations based on CAD data.
