What is PI SDK?
The PI SDK (PI Software Development Kit) is a legacy set of APIs and tools developed by OSIsoft (now AVEVA) for interacting with the PI System, a real-time data management platform commonly used in industrial automation and manufacturing. It allows developers to build custom applications to access, analyze, and manipulate time-series data stored in PI Servers. While powerful, the PI SDK has been largely superseded by newer technologies like the PI Web API and PI AF SDK, and its use is generally discouraged for new development. It is still maintained for backward compatibility with older applications.
