What is PFDs?

PFDs refer to Process Flow Diagrams. They are simplified diagrams that use symbols and notations to illustrate the main process streams, key equipment, and major control loops within a chemical or industrial process. PFDs are used for communication, process understanding, hazard analysis, and as a basis for more detailed design documents like Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
