What is Perimeter Security?

Perimeter security refers to the measures taken to protect a network or system's outer boundary from unauthorized access. It typically involves a combination of hardware and software solutions, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and access control lists, to monitor and control network traffic and prevent malicious actors from penetrating the network. It is commonly used to create a secure barrier between a trusted internal network and an untrusted external network, like the internet.
