What is OpenXML?

Open XML (also known as Office Open XML or OOXML) is an XML-based file format developed by Microsoft for representing electronic office documents, such as text documents, presentations, and spreadsheets. It is commonly used for creating and editing documents in Microsoft Office applications like Word (.docx), PowerPoint (.pptx), and Excel (.xlsx), and has become an ISO standard (ISO/IEC 29500).
