OIC (Open Interconnect Consortium) was an industry consortium that developed the IoTivity open-source software framework. IoTivity aimed to enable interoperability between IoT devices regardless of manufacturer, operating system, or underlying transport protocols. Its goal was to create a unified platform for connecting and managing IoT devices, fostering a more interconnected and user-friendly IoT ecosystem. While the OIC no longer exists as a separate entity, its work was merged into the Open Connectivity Foundation (OCF), and IoTivity continues to be developed under the OCF umbrella.
