What is OFDM?

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is a multi-carrier modulation technique used in digital communication systems. It divides a high-bandwidth channel into multiple narrowband subcarriers that are orthogonal to each other. This allows for efficient use of the available spectrum and robustness against frequency-selective fading and interference. OFDM is commonly used in wireless communication systems such as Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11a/g/n/ac/ax), 4G LTE, and 5G NR, as well as in digital television broadcasting (DVB) and digital audio broadcasting (DAB).
