What is OCA?

OCA stands for the Open Compute Appliance. It's a concept and set of guidelines developed within the Open Compute Project (OCP) for creating standardized and modular hardware appliances, particularly for networking and storage. The goal is to promote interoperability, reduce vendor lock-in, and accelerate innovation in data center infrastructure by defining open specifications for appliance components and management interfaces. Appliances built following OCA principles are typically easier to deploy, manage, and upgrade, potentially leading to lower total cost of ownership.
