NetWare is a discontinued network operating system developed by Novell. It was dominant in the corporate networking market during the 1980s and early to mid-1990s. NetWare provides file and print services, directory services (via NetWare Directory Services, NDS), and application services to networked computers. It uses a proprietary protocol stack, IPX/SPX, for communication, although later versions also supported TCP/IP.
