What is NAT devices?

NAT (Network Address Translation) devices allow multiple devices on a private network to share a single public IP address. This is commonly used to conserve public IPv4 addresses and to provide a basic level of security by hiding the internal network structure from the outside world. NAT devices translate private IP addresses to the public IP address when traffic leaves the network and translate the public IP address back to the private IP address when traffic enters the network.
