What is MVVM Architecture?

MVVM (Model-View-ViewModel) is a software architectural pattern that facilitates the separation of concerns between the UI (View), the data (Model), and the UI logic (ViewModel). The View displays data and sends user actions to the ViewModel. The ViewModel retrieves data from the Model and exposes data streams that the View can easily consume. The ViewModel also contains the business logic, any data transformations, and logic to handle user actions from the View. MVVM is commonly used in building modern UI applications, particularly in WPF, UWP, Xamarin, and Angular.
