What is MUOS?

MUOS (Mobile User Objective System) is a next-generation narrowband tactical satellite communications system developed for the U.S. Department of Defense. It provides significantly improved communications capabilities for mobile and fixed users, offering smartphone-like voice, data, and video communications while on the move. MUOS utilizes wideband code division multiple access (WCDMA) technology to increase capacity and improve signal quality compared to previous systems.
