What is MS Internet Explorer?

Microsoft Internet Explorer (now discontinued and superseded by Microsoft Edge) was a series of graphical web browsers developed by Microsoft and included as part of the Microsoft Windows line of operating systems, starting in 1995. It was widely used for browsing the internet, accessing web applications, and viewing web pages. At its peak, it was the most widely used web browser, but eventually lost market share to competitors like Chrome, Firefox and Safari.
