What is modelling?

Modeling, in a technological context, refers to the process of creating a simplified representation of a system, process, or entity. They are used to understand, predict, and optimize the behavior of the real-world counterpart. Common applications include: simulating climate change, designing aircraft, financial forecasting, and optimizing supply chain logistics. The goal is to extract valuable insights and make informed decisions without directly manipulating the actual system which may be costly, dangerous, or impossible.
