What is Mobile Application Management?

Mobile Application Management (MAM) is the process of managing and securing mobile apps on both corporate-owned and BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) devices. It focuses on controlling access to, and protecting data within, mobile applications, independently of the underlying device. MAM commonly involves app wrapping, containerization, and policies to manage app usage, data sharing, and security features such as authentication and encryption. It is used to protect sensitive corporate data accessed through mobile apps while respecting user privacy, particularly on personal devices.
