MITS most likely refers to Micro Instrumentation and Telemetry Systems, an American electronics company founded in 1969. It is best known for producing the Altair 8800, a microcomputer that is widely recognized as sparking the microcomputer revolution in the mid-1970s. The company was later acquired by Pertec Computer Corporation.
