What is MDM/MAM?

MDM/MAM refers to Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Mobile Application Management (MAM). MDM focuses on securing, monitoring, and managing mobile devices (smartphones, tablets, laptops) within an organization. It allows IT administrators to enforce policies, deploy applications, track device location, and remotely wipe data if a device is lost or stolen. MAM, on the other hand, concentrates on managing and securing mobile applications. It allows organizations to control access to apps, distribute updates, and protect sensitive data within those applications, often without requiring full control over the device itself. MAM is particularly useful for BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) scenarios.
