What is Liberty?

Liberty Alliance, often referred to simply as Liberty, was a consortium of companies that developed open standards for federated identity. Federated identity allows users to use the same digital identity (username and password) across multiple websites or services, reducing the need to create and manage separate accounts for each. It was used to simplify user authentication and authorization across different domains.
