What is Lease Query?
A Lease Query is a request to a DHCP server for address configuration information using an existing, assigned IP address. It allows a device to verify its existing network settings, such as the IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, and DNS servers, without going through the full DHCP discovery and offer process. This can be useful after a network interruption or when a device suspects its configuration may be invalid. It is not as common as standard DHCP renewal processes.
