What is JSR-286?

JSR-286, also known as Portlet Specification 2.0, defines a standard for building reusable web components called portlets that can be aggregated into a portal page. It improves upon the earlier JSR-168 standard by adding features such as inter-portlet communication (events), resource serving, public render parameters, and improved AJAX support.
