What is Jscript?

JScript is Microsoft's dialect of the ECMAScript standard (which is also the basis for JavaScript). It was commonly used for client-side scripting in Internet Explorer and for server-side scripting with Active Server Pages (ASP). While once widely used, JScript is now largely superseded by JavaScript and is considered a legacy technology. Support for JScript is limited in modern web browsers.
