What is Java 1.7?

Java 7 (also known as JDK 7 or Java SE 7) was a major release of the Java programming language. It introduced several new features and improvements, including the try-with-resources statement for automatic resource management, improved support for NIO.2 (New Input/Output), diamond operator for type inference, and support for dynamically-typed languages on the JVM. It is commonly used for developing a wide range of applications, from enterprise-level systems to desktop and mobile apps. Although succeeded by later versions, Java 7 remained in use for many years, particularly in environments where upgrading to newer versions was difficult or not immediately necessary. While now quite old, understanding Java 7 is sometimes still relevant when maintaining older systems.
