What is ISO 27000?

ISO 27000 is a family of standards addressing Information Security Management Systems (ISMS). ISO 27001 is the best-known standard in the family and provides requirements for an ISMS. It is commonly used by organizations to establish, implement, maintain, and continually improve their information security posture. Certification to ISO 27001 demonstrates a commitment to information security and can provide a competitive advantage. The ISO 27000 family includes other standards providing guidance and supporting implementation of an ISMS.
