ISO 14001 specifies requirements for an environmental management system (EMS) to improve environmental performance. While ISO 18001 focuses on occupational health and safety, environmental management and occupational health and safety are often managed together within organizations, making these standards complementary. They both aim to improve the organization's performance, and their use together leads to efficiency.
