iostat (Input/Output statistics) is a system monitoring tool used to collect and display operating system storage input and output statistics. It is commonly used to identify performance bottlenecks related to disk I/O. iostat reports CPU utilization and device input/output statistics for block devices, partitions and network filesystems.
