What is IDP/IPS?

IDP/IPS stands for Intrusion Detection and Prevention System. It is a network security technology used to detect and prevent malicious attacks and policy violations. An Intrusion Detection System (IDS) monitors network traffic for suspicious activity and alerts administrators when such activity is detected. An Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) goes a step further by automatically taking action to block or prevent detected threats. IPS can block malicious traffic, reset connections, or quarantine infected devices. These systems are often deployed in tandem to provide comprehensive network protection.
