What is IDCAMS?

IDCAMS (Integrated Data Cluster Access Method Services) is a set of utility programs used on IBM mainframe operating systems (z/OS) for managing VSAM (Virtual Storage Access Method) data sets and non-VSAM data sets. It's commonly used for tasks like creating, deleting, copying, renaming, backing up, and restoring data sets, as well as managing the catalog entries that describe those datasets.
