What is ICD9/10?

ICD-9 and ICD-10 are International Classification of Diseases coding systems used for classifying diseases and health problems. ICD-9 was the ninth revision, and ICD-10 is the tenth revision. These codes are used for morbidity and mortality statistics, reimbursement, and automated decision support in healthcare. They are used to classify diagnoses and procedures recorded in connection with inpatient, outpatient and physician office visits.
