What is I-DEAS?

I-DEAS was a comprehensive CAD/CAM/CAE software suite developed by Structural Dynamics Research Corporation (SDRC). It was widely used in the automotive, aerospace, and other manufacturing industries for product design, engineering analysis (FEA, CFD), and manufacturing simulation. Key capabilities included solid modeling, assembly management, drafting, simulation, and testing. It was eventually acquired by EDS and later became part of Siemens PLM Software (now Siemens Digital Industries Software), with many of its features integrated into NX (Unigraphics).
