What is HUD?

A head-up display (HUD) is a transparent display that presents data without requiring users to look away from their usual viewpoints. Originating in military aviation, HUDs now appear in commercial aircraft, automobiles, and other applications. They project information, such as speed, navigation, and system status, onto a transparent screen or the windshield, allowing the user to maintain focus on their surroundings.
