What is History?

History is the study of the past. It uses a variety of sources, such as written documents, artifacts, and oral traditions, to understand and interpret past events and their impact on the present. It's commonly used to understand cultures, governments, and social movements; analyze past trends to predict future ones; and develop a sense of identity and perspective.
