What is HDI?

HDI (High Density Interconnect) refers to printed circuit boards (PCBs) with a higher wiring density per unit area compared to conventional PCBs. This is achieved through finer lines and spaces, smaller vias, and higher connection pad density. HDI PCBs are often used in applications requiring miniaturization and high performance, such as mobile phones, tablets, medical devices, and advanced electronics, since they enable more components to be placed in a smaller space with improved signal integrity.
