What is Google +?

Google+ was a social network owned and operated by Google. Launched in 2011 and shut down for consumer (personal) use in 2019, it aimed to be a comprehensive social platform integrating various Google services. It featured circles (groups of contacts), hangouts (video conferencing), and a news feed. While it gained a considerable user base, it failed to compete effectively with other established social networks like Facebook and Twitter and was eventually shut down due to low engagement and security vulnerabilities. Google+ continues to exist for enterprise customers as Google Workspace, focused on internal communication and collaboration within organizations.
