What is GIS/GPS?

GIS (Geographic Information System) is a system designed to capture, store, manipulate, analyze, manage, and present spatial or geographic data. It's used for a wide range of applications, including urban planning, environmental monitoring, resource management, and location-based services. GPS (Global Positioning System) is a satellite-based navigation system that provides location and time information anywhere on or near the Earth where there is an unobstructed line of sight to four or more GPS satellites. GPS is often used in conjunction with GIS to collect location data, which can then be integrated into GIS for analysis and visualization.
