What is GEP?
GEP most commonly refers to Gene Expression Programming. It is an evolutionary algorithm, a type of genetic algorithm, used for creating computer programs or mathematical models. It evolves populations of programs represented as character strings encoded in a structure known as expression trees (ETs). These ETs can then be easily translated into mathematical expressions or computer code. GEP is used in a variety of fields including symbolic regression, time series prediction, and classification problems.
