What is fume hoods?

A fume hood (also called a fume cupboard) is a ventilated enclosure in a laboratory designed to protect personnel from exposure to hazardous or toxic fumes, vapors, dusts, and aerosols. It works by drawing air from the room into the hood, diluting the contaminants, and then exhausting the contaminated air outside the building.
