What is event based?

Event-based architectures are a software architecture pattern where components communicate by emitting and reacting to events. Instead of directly calling functions or methods of other components, a component publishes an event, and other components that are interested in that event subscribe to it. When the event occurs, the subscribers are notified and can react accordingly. This promotes loose coupling, scalability, and asynchronicity, making systems more flexible and responsive. Common uses include user interface programming (e.g., handling mouse clicks), message queues, and reactive programming models for building scalable and real-time applications. Examples include pub/sub systems, message queues (like Kafka, RabbitMQ), and frameworks that implement the observer pattern.
