What is elettronica?

Elettronica, the Italian word for electronics, encompasses the branch of physics, engineering, and technology dealing with electrical circuits that involve active electrical components such as vacuum tubes, transistors, diodes, and integrated circuits, and associated passive electrical components and interconnection technologies. Electronics is used in a vast array of applications including computing, telecommunications, control systems, signal processing, and instrumentation. Given that 'elettronica' is a broad term, it is more accurately described as a general field than a specific, singular technology.
