What is EDRS?

The European Data Relay System (EDRS) is a European network of geostationary satellites that relay data between low Earth orbit satellites and ground stations. It provides near-real-time data transfer, enabling faster access to large volumes of data acquired by Earth observation satellites, improving disaster response, environmental monitoring, and security applications. It is often called the 'SpaceDataHighway'.
