What is e-QIP?

e-QIP (Electronic Questionnaires for Investigations Processing) was a web-based system used by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) to collect and process background investigation forms for federal employees, contractors, and military personnel. It allowed individuals to electronically complete and submit security clearance applications (such as the SF86), streamlining the investigation process. It has been replaced by eApp.
