What is Django channels?

Django Channels is an extension to Django that allows it to handle WebSockets, long-poll HTTP, and other asynchronous protocols in addition to traditional HTTP requests. It enables Django to support real-time features, such as chat applications, live dashboards, and notifications, by providing a layer on top of the Django web framework that allows it to handle asynchronous events and maintain long-lived connections with clients.
