DIACAP, or the Department of Defense Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process, was a United States Department of Defense (DoD) process to ensure a standardized approach to information assurance (IA) for DoD information systems. It was used to manage the risks associated with operating DoD information systems by identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities, and ensuring that systems met specific security requirements before they were deployed and while they were in operation. DIACAP has been superseded by the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
