What is DDMRP?

Demand Driven Material Requirements Planning (DDMRP) is a multi-echelon planning and execution method to protect and promote flow of relevant information and materials through the establishment and management of strategically placed decoupling points (buffers). It's commonly used to reduce lead times, improve inventory turns, and decrease stockouts by decoupling dependencies and focusing on actual demand.
