What is DCS/PLC?

DCS (Distributed Control System) and PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) are both industrial control systems. PLCs are generally used for discrete control tasks like turning equipment on/off based on conditions, while DCSs are used for more complex process control applications, often involving continuous variables like temperature, pressure, and flow.
