What is CPRA?
CPRA stands for the California Privacy Rights Act. It is a California state law that amends and expands upon the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). The CPRA grants California residents several rights regarding their personal information, including the right to know what personal information is collected about them, the right to delete personal information, the right to correct inaccurate personal information, the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and the right to limit the use of sensitive personal information. It also established the California Privacy Protection Agency (CPPA) to enforce the law. Businesses that collect and process personal information of California residents must comply with the CPRA if they meet certain thresholds (e.g., exceeding a certain amount of annual revenue, processing personal information of a certain number of consumers).
