What is CMM’s?
CMMs, or Coordinate Measuring Machines, are devices used to precisely measure the physical geometry of objects. They typically consist of a probing system mounted on a movable frame that can move in three dimensions (X, Y, and Z axes). By touching the probe to various points on the object's surface, the CMM can accurately determine the coordinates of those points. This data is then used to create a three-dimensional representation of the object, which can be compared to CAD models or engineering drawings. CMMs are commonly used in manufacturing, quality control, and reverse engineering applications to ensure that parts meet specified tolerances and dimensions.
