What is Closures?

A closure is a function's ability to remember and access its surrounding state (lexical environment) even after the outer function has finished executing. They are commonly used in JavaScript and other languages to create private variables, maintain state between function calls, and implement callbacks and event handlers. Essentially, a closure allows a function to access variables from its outer scope, even when the function is called outside of that scope.
