What is CLIA?

CLIA stands for Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments. It's a U.S. federal regulatory standard applicable to all clinical laboratory testing performed on humans in the United States, with the exception of research. CLIA establishes quality standards for laboratory testing to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and timeliness of patient test results, regardless of where the test was performed.
